With the clock ticking to the end of the June 6 election, the heads of campaigns for Humboldt County District Attorney Paul Gallegos and his opponent, Deputy District Attorney Worth Dikeman, are asking supporters to join them in celebration after they vote.“We’ve got people who are going to be working really hard on getting out the vote; if people need to get to the polls we’ll definitely find them a ride … and we’ll also be calling voters and encouraging people to get out a vote,” said Alison Sterling Nichols, Gallegos’ campaign manager.
She said there will also be volunteers standing at various locations with signs encouraging people to vote and Gallegos will be walking around Eureka talking to voters.
Once the polls close at 8 p.m., supporters are invited to a party at the Lost Coast Brewery in Eureka.
“We’re really excited to re-elect Paul tomorrow,” Nichols said.
Dikeman said he plans to walk around Arcata and McKinleyville talking to voters.
Suzie Owsley, Dikeman’s assistant campaign manager, said she wants to make sure Dikeman’s supporters vote.
“We’re just asking them to get out the vote and then join us at the party.”
Owsley said Dikeman’s first fundraising event was at O-H’s Town House in Eureka and his supporters are invited to celebrate with him in O-H’s banquet room at 7 p.m.
“We are holding a victory party for Worth Dikeman at O-H’s,” she said.
Both candidates’ headquarters are scheduled to be open today.
Gallegos’ campaign headquarters is located at 226 F St., in Old Town, and can be reached at 707-476-0552.
Dikeman’s campaign headquarters is located at 634 Second St. in Old Town and can be reached at 707-407-5004.
